About This Event

High School & College Teams…..Come Battle it Out for the California 15lb Combat Robotics Championships at the NRL California event!

2026 will also include Impact Robotics League Event #3

1lb plastic ant competition open to middle school and high school builders

Event is open to the Public and Free for Spectators!

  • 15lb BotsIQ/NRL California (HS/College age teams only) - registration open now

Impact Robotics League Plastic Ants - registration now open

Date: Saturday, January 31, 2026

Location: Sierra College Campus Cafeteria, Rocklin, CA

Entry Fee: $20 per bot Plastic Ants, $50 per bot Bots IQ Class

  • PLANT bracket are group play preliminary stage, with top 8-16 advancing to single elimination

Divisions:

Advanced/Open (all ages)

SPARC 1.6 Construction Rules as the baseline

Placer Robotics 25-26 Rules , including changes/deviations from Sparc 1.6. Please see the document for complete details. Major differences include:

  • Original Work Expectations (Section 18 addition)

  • Plastic Ants: No TPU as per sparc 1.6 with the sole exception of TPU weapon or drive belts are permitted as emergency replacements

*We do accept 6th grade participants on an case by case basis for EDU divisions - please contact the event organizer for details.

Registration Deadlines and Details -

EDU divisions must also register on ImpactRoboticsLeague.org,

  • Open teams please register via RCE

  • One robot per builder/driver . Large clubs (such as school based programs) may enter multiple bots provided each bot is designed, managed/repaired and driven by a subteam/builder. Contact the EO to confirm if you have any questions.

Adult supervision required onsite for duration of event for anyone under age of 18

Registration Deadline: March 14, 2026

**Payment Deadline: **March 7 , 2026 . Any team not paid by the deadline will be moved to the waitlist

All participants and supervising adults must complete liability/media release waiver for the season. **If you completed the waiver for IRL FALL BRAWL or WINTER WRECKAGE, you do not need to complete it again. **

6:00 - 8:45 PM — Check-in, inspection, and safety

**9:00PM **— Venue closes to teams

Saturday, March 21 (Competition) - Schedule is Tentative

7:30 AM — Venue opens to teams, check in and inspection begins

8:30 AM — Venue opens to public

8:30 AM — Check-in & safety deadline

9:00 AM — ~ Fights begin!

12:00 PM — Lunch break

12:45 PM — Fights resume

4:00 - 5:00 PM — Finals, awards, cleanup (estimated)
