How did you first discover combat robotics, and what made you decide to actually start building?
Friend introduced me to nhrl during COVID so designed a bot for it.
What was the first bot you ever built, and what do you remember most about that experience?
Fallout. Realizing everything I thought was good was actually terrible. Also how nice the community is.
Who were the early influences or people who helped you learn the ropes when you were just starting out?
No one I can point to specifically but definitely the random combat Facebook groups
How has your current bot evolved from your first version or first idea?
Many small but big changes that equate to things hitting hard and breaking more things
What’s one thing you wish you knew before building your first bot?
How addictive it is to want to build and iterate more
Do you prefer building, driving, or strategy — and why?
Build and strategy mainly because I think I'm a bad driver and enjoy the engineering change more.
What was your favorite fight you’ve ever had and why?
Two favorite fights (or saga) is void vs sievert because it shows how little things change fights and I love fighting Trevor lol. Prince vs half-life show casing I can drive well sometimes lol
What keeps you excited about the sport?
The community people are awesome to talk to and cheer for
What advice would you give to someone thinking about building their first bot?
Just do it, don't over think it. Your first bot will suck so you need to just fight and learn.
What are your goals for your next event?
Have fun and learn new things
Are there any events you hope to compete in in the future?
More nhrl's and gscrls.
Where do you see your bot, or yourself as a builder, a year from now?
Learn more new things, meet more people in the community, and maybe get a dumpster (pretty unlikely though)
